About Us

Manitoba Pug Rescue (MPR) is a non-profit organization founded in 2007 and is run by volunteers. We are dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of all surrendered, abandoned, neglected and abused pugs. We provide our rescues with veternary care, fostering, food, and find them a safe, loving forever home.

Our rescue does not have a facility where a potential family can drop by, pick out a pug and take him home that day. Rescued pugs live in foster homes, where they are evaluated and cared for until we find the right adoptive family for them. Manitoba Pug Rescue services pugs and pug x's in need within the whole Province of Manitoba.

What's New?

Callie

Callie is a 6 year old former puppy mill dog from Kentucky. She was taken into a shelter after being found as a stray. The shelter was full and she was on doggy death row until another shelter took her in. She has come a long way to find a new home where she will be treated like the princess that she is! Callie is currently in foster care and is learning to be a pet. She can be fearful and timid. Her foster mom has been busy introducing her to new sounds and situations. She is coming around slowly! Although she is 6 years old, you would never know it! She acts like a puppy and recently learned about toys and bones. If you are interested in adopting her, please contact us at manitobapugrescue@gmail.com

Callie Cupcake is up-to-date with routine shots and spayed/neutered.

Thank you to everyone who supported MPR during April by purchasing a magazine subscription! We raised $170.

We are gearing up for a busy summer at MPR! We are expecting numerous rescue pugs & pug x's over the next few months. These dogs are from high kill shelters, strays, abandoned by owner or dumped by a puppy mill.
